The designer who also writes your copy

You're brilliant at what you do. Your website should make that obvious.

But your current website? It's either DIY, outdated, or just... not quite you anymore. And every time someone asks for your URL, there's that small internal wince.

You know you need something better. What you don't know is how to get there without spending months staring at a blank page, chasing a designer who doesn't get your industry, or ending up with something so generic it could belong to anyone.

Sound familiar?

"I cringe every time someone asks for my website URL."

"I know I need better copy but I have no idea what to write."

"I've outgrown my template but I don't want something complicated to manage."

"I've been putting this off for way too long."

That's exactly where I come in.

Why I do this differently.

Before building my own business, I worked in corporate communications and marketing — where I learned that great design without a clear message is just expensive decoration. Strategy had to come first. The words had to do real work.

When I left to build my own business, I took all of that with me. I became a Squarespace web designer because I wanted to give service business owners something I rarely saw — a website that was beautiful and strategic and written in a voice that actually sounded like them.

What I bring to every project:

  • 01 The Marketer

Every page has a job to do. I build a clear path that turns visitors into leads — not just a site that looks good in a screenshot.

  • 02 The Writer

I write the copy — as a core part of every project, not an add-on. You won't stare at a blank page on my watch.

  • 03 The Designer

My design eye comes from years of brand and marketing work — where visuals had to perform, not just look pretty.

  • 04 The Photographer

A trained eye for imagery means your site will always feel cohesive and intentional — never assembled from a random stock library.

What it’s like to work with me

  • No surprises

You'll always know where we are, what's coming next, and exactly what's included. No mystery invoices.

  • Straight talk

I'll tell you what you actually need. If a simpler solution works better, I'll say so.

  • A calm presence

Handing over your website is a big deal. I take the trust part seriously and I don't disappear mid-project.

The person behind the strategy.

I'm based in Victoria, BC — a city small enough that word travels fast and your online presence matters more than you'd think. I live here with my husband, two kids, and a Goldendoodle named Daisy who has absolutely no interest in web design.

I've always been an avid reader — so much so that I completed an English degree at the University of Toronto while working part-time at a local bookstore. That love of language is baked into everything I build.

Outside of web design, I'm also a professional photographer over at Erin Clayton Photography — which is where my eye for cohesive, intentional visuals comes from.

On any given morning you'll find me with a coffee I absolutely cannot skip and probably eyeing a new plant for a house that my family has politely informed me has reached capacity.

I also run The Friday Reset — a biweekly newsletter for fellow service business owners to be in the trenches together. If that sounds like your kind of thing, you're in the right place.

Speaking of About pages… I think about them a lot.

So much so that I built the Established Identity Method: a free framework that walks you through writing yours using the same process I use with my web design clients.
