VSIE came to me with a common challenge: their existing website was showing its age. It was difficult for visitors – particularly prospective parents and staff – to find essential information quickly due to an outdated design and a confusing, undefined structure. This not only created a frustrating user experience but also made it challenging for the VSIE team to update content, manage admissions information, and effectively communicate their unique educational philosophy to their community.

The Solution:

My approach for VSIE.ca was to strip away the clutter and build a truly intuitive digital home. We embarked on a comprehensive Squarespace redesign, focusing on:

• Strategic Structure & Navigation: I meticulously planned the site map and information architecture, creating a logical flow that guided visitors effortlessly to key sections.

• Modern, Welcoming Design: We implemented a fresh, contemporary aesthetic that better reflected VSIE's nurturing and forward-thinking approach to education. This included a clean layout, an mini refresh of their colour palette, and engaging typography to enhance readability and visual appeal.

• Empowering In-House Management: A core focus was building the site within Squarespace using intuitive blocks and clear sectioning, specifically so the VSIE team could confidently update content, post announcements, and manage resources themselves post-launch without needing constant external support. I provided tailored training to ensure a smooth handover.

• Essential Features: Integrated contact forms, easily accessible program details, and clear calls-to-action for inquiries, admissions, and donations were strategically placed to enhance user engagement.

The Results:

The new VSIE.ca website launched to overwhelmingly positive feedback from the school's administration, teachers, and parent community. The updated design and clear navigation immediately enhanced their professional image and made vital information much more accessible. The VSIE team now has full confidence in managing their website internally, ensuring their online presence is always up-to-date and effectively communicating their mission of inclusive education.
